Origin: 100% Sumatra

Sumatra is a mountainous island in the Indonesian archipelago. The coffees produced here are famous for their distinctive flavor profile, which arises from a variety of factors including soil composition, climate, coffee varietal, and the unique processing method favored on the island. This process, called wet hulling, involves partially drying the coffee seed, and hulling it while it is still damp and soft. It is then dried exceptionally slowly on patios, and often piled under tarps at night to further slow the loss of moisture.  The result is a very heavy bodied, sweet coffee with muted, round acidity and a one-of-a-kind flavor that is often described as earthy.

We ship our freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday using USPS. Shipping times may be affected by national holidays. If you place your order before 8am, it will be shipped the same day. Please keep in mind that we do not process orders on weekends. If you order between Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, your order will be shipped on Monday.

I've been mail ordering this Sumatra for many years, originally from Washington, DC. It is consistently flavorful, somewhere between medium and dark, the best of both roasts.
Ordering is always easy and delivery prompt, even to rural Vermont.
